CB&Q Lower Quadrant Semaphore
Train Order Board

As of April 15th the first batch of 30 train order boards were shipped and production on the second batch of 30 had begun.  For several months I had been unable to make contact with Terry Wegmann, the builder of these excellent models.  Unfortunately, we discovered that he had been fighting a serious disease and he passed away on September 5, 2011, shortly before noon. Terry was 67 years old and had been a lifelong rail buff. Terry started working with Kemtron and the Back Shop creating masters and casting. A self taught tool and die maker, Terry was a master craftsman in metal, plastic and resin. Along with Lloyd Asbury, Terry created a wide variety of tooling and parts at A W Modelcraft. N&G Signals and the superb PFE R-30-18 reefer marketed by Intermountain were also Terry's work. Much of Details West line of parts was created and/or produced by Terry.

The good news is that we recently were able to contacted Paul Lubliner (10/17/2011) and he has agreed to complete the last 30 train order boards.  Paul could not promise a specific delivery date, but did promise that he would make them a high priority.  We will keep you abreast of the latest news on this project here on this page.  Thank you to those of you who have been patiently waiting for these models!!

CB&Q Lower Quadrant Train Order Board
HO Scale Brass - Assembled and Painted
Hand crafted in the USA!

Both semaphores are fully operational and lighted.  These are designed to be compatible with Oak Tree Systems' semaphore controls (SC-1) and servo motors.
Train order "boards" (signals) were used by all railroads at their depots to indicate to passing trains whether they had to stop and/or had "orders" for them.  ALL CB&Q depots had these either free-standing directly in front of depot between depot and tracks or in some cases protruding up thru the roof above the Operators' Bay.  (One may be seen in the Bay City image below) Some still exist at preserved depots, both CB&Q and others and were in use right into early BN.  The style of semaphore or 'board' however varied from railroad to railroad with these following CB&Q prototype.

Sorry, not available to order at this time.

Keep watching for our next project!!
